Vision

The vision of Sing, Giggle, & Grin is to ensure all children have a safe and healthy learner environment to thrive in developmentally while they are temporarily separated from their families throughout the day.  Sing, Giggle, & Grin wants to provide families with a worry free environment that assists them in the care of their children.  Most of all Sing, Giggle, & Grin wants the children and families they serve to be happy.  We want children and families to leave Sing, Giggle, & Grin with amazing happy memories of their time with us, memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Mission

The mission of Sing, Giggle, & Grin is to work with families to promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, moral, language, and physical development and overall happiness.   The children will be provided with hands on experiences, opportunities to grow as individuals, and to develop self-help and social skills, and respect for others.

Philosophy

Sing, Giggle, & Grin believes children are individuals and although there are norms set forth for typical developmental milestones, each child will develop and grow in their own unique timeframe.  Sing, Giggle, & Grin believes learning comes about through hands on experiences.  We feel that through hands on experiences and activities children can best learn about their environment and other individuals around them.

During a child’s early years of life, we feel the adult’s role in response to the child’s physical development is that of coach and spectator.  Adults must provide opportunities and environments for children in which they can experiment with their continued physical growth through different activities.  Adults must encourage children in their physical attempts such as when they are learning to walk; this would be the “coaching” aspect.  However, adults must also become spectators at times and allow children the opportunities to experience physical experiences on their own.

As a child develops socially, we feel an adult’s role is to be supportive and to model appropriate behavior and social interactions.   By modeling appropriate social interactions and responses with other adults, children can observe positive social interactions.  A child’s emotional development is to be nurtured by adults.  Adults are most helpful to children’s emotional development by forming warm reciprocal relationships with the children in their care, which in turn helps children feel respected and valued.

Sing, Giggle, & Grin feels adults can take many roles when it comes to a child’s cognitive development.  The teachers at our center are responsible for providing enriching environments that encourage children to constantly explore and learn.  We feel a child’s language development is most positively influenced by adults who set up language rich environments and whom engage in reciprocal conversations with the children.  Sing, Giggle, & Grin feels it is important for adults to model appropriate speech for children.

Sing, Giggle, & Grin believes that families are a child’s first and most important teacher.  Families will be served in a way that makes them feel welcomed and comfortable.  Sing, Giggle, & Grin will make every effort to abide by families preferences for their children.  We will involve families in their child’s developmental goals.  Sing, Giggle, & Grin is committed to working as a team with families to ensure their children’s continued developmental growth.
